Ductile Iron Y Strainer is a pipeline filter with Y-shaped structure. Installed in pipelines, it captures solid particles, sediment and various impurities in the medium to protect downstream valves, water pumps and instruments from abrasion and blockage. This product features easy installation and maintenance. Accumulated impurities can be cleaned simply by removing the strainer cover, without taking the entire strainer off the pipeline.

Low pressure drop. The full-bore design provides ample filtration area with minimal media pressure loss and no impact on pipeline flow output. Standard flange connection ensures uniform stress distribution, reliable sealing and easy assembly and disassembly, complying with international pipeline standards including EN, GB and BS. It has high strength and excellent impact resistance, good toughness and low risk of brittle fracture, and can withstand pipeline pressure fluctuations and water hammer.
The ductile iron Y strainer features a streamlined Y-shaped cavity for low fluid resistance. Its screen delivers an effective filtering area 3 to 4 times the pipe cross-section, offering strong dirt holding capacity and extended cleaning intervals. Equipped with a bottom cover and adopting a removable screen design, it allows the optional 304/316 stainless steel screen to be taken out for cleaning and replacement without removing the entire unit or cutting the pipeline, ensuring easy maintenance.
Flexible installation for both horizontal and vertical pipelines. The downward drain outlet enables impurity sedimentation by gravity to trap solid particles such as welding slag, sand and rust, protecting downstream equipment including pumps, valves and flow meters. Compact structure takes up little space, and its lighter weight compared with cast steel reduces engineering installation costs.

Ductile Iron Y Strainer is suitable for municipal water supply, HVAC circulating water, fire protection systems, sewage treatment and industrial fluid pipe networks. It traps solid impurities such as sand, rust and welding slag to protect critical downstream equipment including pumps, valves and flow meters.

It can be installed on horizontal or vertical pipelines. The drain outlet must face down to collect impurities by gravity for good filtration and blowdown performance.

The screen is removable and replaceable. 304 or 316 stainless steel screens are optional. You can take out the screen for cleaning without removing the whole strainer by opening the bottom cover.
